Regional Partnership Forum
Description
Rivermont buys its refuse vehicles, its school catering and its IT support alone, at the prices a district of 94,000 people commands. Four neighboring districts do the same, separately, from the same suppliers.
What this session is for
It is a working forum rather than a conference. The output is a costed proposal to take back to five separate councils, and the room has been assembled so that each of the five has someone present who can sign one.
- 09:30 — Where the five districts’ contracts currently sit, and when they end. This is the constraint everything else works around.
- 10:30 — Three candidate categories for joint procurement, with indicative savings.
- 11:30 — What a shared framework agreement would need to contain.
- 12:00 — Who does what before the next session.
Attending
The forum is open to residents of any of the five districts. Papers are published a week ahead. If you want to speak, tell us when you register and we will schedule it rather than leaving it to whoever is nearest the microphone.
