Why volunteer with this campaign?
Be the Change
Two hours on a Saturday knocking doors moves a ward further than any amount of advertising. We can show you the numbers.
Connect with Your Community
You will meet the people who run the food bank, the youth club and the allotment committee — and find out what they actually need.
Learn and Grow
Canvassing, data entry, phone banking, event stewarding, policy research. Every role has a written brief and a named person to ask.
Current volunteer opportunities
We are recruiting for four roles this quarter: canvassers for the Ashcroft registration drive, two casework volunteers for the Saturday surgeries, a data volunteer to keep the category counts current, and stewards for the autumn events. Each has a one-page brief you can read before deciding, and none of them require a standing commitment beyond the shift you sign up for.

Where your time goes
Four areas the campaign's volunteer hours are spent on, and what each one is for.
Empowering Initiatives
Ward surgeries, translation and childcare — the unglamorous costs that decide who can take part.
Building a Better Tomorrow
Study rooms open until seven, and a walk-in clinic in the three neighborhoods that have none.
Tech for Good
The public register of automated decisions, and the staff time to answer what people ask of it.
Regional Impact
Shared procurement work with four neighboring districts, so a small county stops overpaying.

Benefits of Volunteering
What you get out of it, stated plainly, because a campaign that only talks about what it needs is not being straight with you.
Community Impact
Your shift is tied to a measurable outcome — doors knocked, forms completed, people registered — and reported back to you.
Skill Development
Training in public speaking, casework, data handling and event logistics, all of it free and none of it tied to staying.
Networking
A standing invitation to the monthly organizers' supper, where the district's community leads compare notes.
