Plain-language budgeting — Jamal Wright on the guide the district’s finance office now uses, why the first plain-language budget ran to nine pages, and what was lost in getting it there.

The register of automated decisions — Sarah Chen on the eleven systems the council uses to decide something about a resident, the four that are properly described, and the seven that have been “pending” for eighteen months.

The argument — an hour, chaired, with the two speakers disagreeing in public about whether transparency without capacity is worth anything.
